John attended and graduated from St. Vincent Ferrer Class of 1977, and Nazareth H.S. Class of 198. He graduated from Pace University Class of 1985 with a Bachelor of Science Degree.
John worked 36 years in air conditioning wholesale sales and supplies, and was a beloved delivery driver for Domino’s Pizza for 20 years. He was a member of Boy Scouts and The Knights of Columbus.
John loved going to the dog track, watching the horse races, playing cards and bingo with his family, watching Rocky, scratch off tickets, and especially loved visiting his favorite place in the entire world, Greenwood Lake, NY. He had a heart of gold and offered help and care to anyone who needed it, be it friend or foe. John was an amazing father, brother, son, and husband who would go to the ends of the earth to provide for his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marina; loving children Angela and Mary; treasured mother and stepfather Arleen and Dennis Marnick; beloved brother and sister-in-law Jeffrey and Monica, cherished sister Doreen and adored nieces and nephews. His father and best friend, John J. Day Sr., precede him in death.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Robert Toale & Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave., Sarasota, FL 34232, from 5 – 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 AM on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at St. Martha Catholic Church, 200 N. Orange Ave., Sarasota, FL 34236. Committal will immediately follow at Palms Memorial Park.
