John "Joe" Hartmann was born in St. Louis, Missouri. Served in the US Army in Alaska from 1953 to 1955. Joe attended St. Louis University from 1955 to 1959 earning a Liberal Arts Degree. He moved to Sarasota in 2002.
Joe is survived by his beloved partner of 39 years, Dr. Menachem (Max) Givon, Forensic Psychologist. Joe and Max loved to travel and enjoyed many unique trips around the world.
Joe is predeceased in life by his parents, James R. Hartmann and Margaret Crowley Hartmann, siblings Mary (Leslie) Hook, Margaret (Jerome) LaCroix, James Hartmann, and sister-in-law Betty Hartmann
He is survived by his siblings, Gregory Hartmann, Audrey (John) Wempner, Judith (David) Hemenway, Veronica (John) Fitzgerald, Claire Cigno and Barbara (David) Curran. Special Uncle, Great Uncle and Great-Great Uncle, and friend to many.
A Celebration of Joe's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 17 at Palms-Robarts Memorial Park, Sarasota, FL.
