Dennis was born on August 11, 1940, in Jacksonville, Illinois. On April 14, 1963, he married the love of his life, Connie Miller. Together they shared 63 years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, and devotion to one another.
A faithful Christian, Dennis served as an Elder at Fellowship of Believers Church for several years. He found great joy in serving others in various capacities and generously volunteered his time visiting local retirement communities, reading to residents and sharing meaningful conversations that brought comfort and companionship.
Dennis also had a lifelong passion for aviation, a love inspired by his father during his youth. Although a medical condition prevented him from obtaining a pilot's license, he never lost his fascination with flight. He could often be found at nearby airports, watching airplanes and enthusiastically talking with fellow aviation enthusiasts about the wonder and beauty of flying.
Dennis proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1961 through 1965 and was honorably discharged. When service members were asked to stand and be honored, he often remained seated, believing others had given more in service to their country.
Above all, Dennis was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Connie Moulton; his children, Greg Moulton, MaryBeth Lunsford, and John Moulton; and his cherished grandchildren, Ashley, Brandon, Ethan, Anna, and Emily. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL 34232, US, on June 20, 2026, from 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life will follow beginning at 12:00 pm. Upon conclusion of his Celebration of Life, Dennis will be laid to rest at Palms Memorial Park at 1pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association in Dennis's honor.
He lived his life according to the words from 2nd Timothy 4:7, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
