He is survived by his son, Larry Samples (Stephanie) of Raleigh, NC; brothers, Wilmer Samples of Lady Lake, FL and Dick Samples of Staunton, VA; sisters, Fay Doome of Englewood, FL and Nancy Hilbert of Staunton, VA; grandchildren, Sean Samples and Wendy Kuehn and 5 great grandchildren. John is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rose and siblings, Norman Samples, Judy Collins and Sunny Samples.
A Visitation will be held on Fri. Dec. 1, 2017 from 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM at Palms-Robarts Funeral Home, 170 Honore Ave. Sarasota, FL 34232. Burial to follow at Sarasota Memorial Park.
