Jack served in the U. S Army as PFC in Gen. Patton’s Third Army in Europe. After the war, he reenlisted in the Air Force and served as CPL in Panama until his discharge in 1948.
Jack attended Broward Community College, Florida Atlantic University, and Florida State University earning his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees as Vocational Education Specialist. He taught mechanical and engineering technologies in the Broward County School System . He also accepted a thirteen month assignment with the U. S. Department of Labor in Saudi Arabia as writer/trade specialist developing curriculum in eight areas of vocational education.
After retirement, Jack following his love of aircraft learned to fly. He also enjoyed travel and photography.
He is survived by his loving wife Norma Streber, two daughters, Jacqueline Johnson, Christine Martin, four sons, Gerald Smith, James Streber, Jeffrey Streber, David Streber, and stepdaughter, Lee Ann Deak, and stepson, Ronald Deak. Jack also had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Marie Streber.
A Memorial Service will be held January 9, 2021 at 11AM at the Redeemer Church,12404 Boyette Road, Riverview, FL 33569 .
