Born on September 18th, 2000, in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Jonah was the son of Michael and Ida Cárdenas. He was a graduate of Florida Atlantic University, Class of 2023, where he was a proud member of Phi Delta Theta.
The son of a U.S. Army Colonel, Jonah's upbringing was full of many new homes, life experiences, and friendships. He truly loved his family and friends, Muay Thai, UFC, movies, music, the great state of Florida, the Dallas Cowboys, and his cat, "Lola."
Jonah is remembered for his fun-loving spirit, unwavering loyalty, and contagious smile. He leaves behind a gift of love and laughter that will forever be treasured by his surviving family: his father, Colonel (R) Michael Cárdenas; mother, Ida Cárdenas; sister, Lauren Reidy (Luke); and grandfathers, Ruben Cárdenas, and Joe L. Valdez. Jonah is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Carmela Cárdenas, and Bonnie Valdez.
Jonah Alexander Cárdenas touched the lives of many with his vibrant personality and generous heart. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A committal service for Jonah will be held Monday, July 22, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
