I worked with Dr Bonta as a new graduate nurse on 9 South in the early 80s. He was a fantastic surgeon & positively impacted many patients lives.

I am so saddened to hear of Dr Bonta’s passing. He had quite the spirit and I am privileged to have worked for him for 16+ years.  He was an amazing Surgeon and touched so many lives.  I will be unable to attend his memorial, but wanted you, Lisa and Marco, to know how much he meant to me and the impact he had on my life and career.   You have my deepest sympathy 

Lisa and Marco, I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. Joe was the ultimate professional who loved and cared for all of his family. He helped me through my diagnosis and treatment for cancer. My entire family is grateful for all he did. I enjoyed all the times we got together and our many phone conversations. The Aquinas College High School Alumni Association offers its sincerest condolences to the family of Joseph Bonta, class of 1942. Holy Mass will be offered for him by a Dominican Friar at St. Patrick Church, Columbus OH.

Lisa , Darrin, Tyler, Kate and family. Wish I had the opportunity of meeting Joseph. He sure sounds like a lovely man. Sending you my deepest sympathy! May god stand by you through this sad time and future to come. May he comfort each and everyone of you.

You have my deepest sympathy. The loss of a parent is certainly devastating. Your father lived a long, celebrated life. Two wars and a long medical career. Amazing. 
He was an important part of my mother’s care making sure she saw the best physicians during her battle with cancer. I thank him for that. 
I’m lifting you all in prayers of peace and comfort.
