Joe lived his life to the fullest even though his disability slowed him down. He loved going to the gun range, fishing, hunting, spending time with his family and skyping with his "peanut". He worked at TI until injury forced him to retire 30 years ago. Joe graduated from Pilgrim High School, and was Life long member of the NRA and avid gun enthusiast.
Joe leaves behind his love, Jean Crecelius and his daughter, Courtney Conway, her husband Geoff and their daughter, Joe's pride and joy, Kiara "peanut" Conway. He was the brother of Tom Melton and his wife Sue, sister Mary Carey and her husband Leo. He also leaves Jean's children Joseph Crecelius, Jeffrey Crecelius. Megan Aguiar, her husband Jared and their son Oliver whom he loved, also leaves behind three nieces, one nephew and many aunts, uncles and cousins. His childhood best friends, whom he thought of as brothers rather than friends - Donny Moulton and Joe Jolls
He is preceded in death by his parents Benjamin & Catherine Melton.
Celebration of life will be November 23rd, from 3 to 7, at the club house of where he lived,
We will have another celebration of life in RI in the spring so we can spread his ashes in Narragansett Bay where he loved to fish for blues.
