Judith F. Amato, 82 of Bradenton, FL, formerly of Cromwell, CT, passed peacefully on February 11, 2023. Born in Hartford, CT, was predeceased by her husband Joseph Amato, Jr., parents Elva (Winn) and Walter Froehlich, her sister Linda, brother Bob and nephew Billy.
Judy was a graduate of Bristol High School and received her bachelor’s degree in Medical Record Administration from Colby Sawyer College. She went on to work at Bridgeport Hospital and at New Britain General Hospital as the Medical Records Director for many years. After retiring, she and Joe were the first residents at River Highlands in Cromwell where they lived until 2006 when they moved to Lakewood Ranch, FL. Judy and Joe enjoyed their family, friends and volunteering for Meals on Wheels.
Judy is survived by her nephew Dr. Jeff Arle & wife Kelly of MA, great nephews Chad and Tyler and niece Alexis as well as her stepchildren: Dean Amato of CT, James & wife Pamela Amato of TX, and Jeanna & husband John Pellino of CT.
A service will be scheduled to be held at the Sarasota National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Joe.
