June Marshall Ragusa, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on June 25, 1938, in England, June met her future husband, Michael Ragusa, a United States citizen, on a blind date while he was working abroad. Less than six months later, they were married in England and soon returned to the United States, where she built a beautiful life and family. She loved this country deeply and was proud to become a United States citizen—not out of necessity, but because of her passion for this country and her desire to have her voice heard through the right to vote.
Her family was her world, and she truly lived for her children and grandchildren. She was known for her elaborate holiday celebrations, her famous gingerbread house, and the many cherished memories made baking Christmas cookies with her daughters. She was also incredibly creative, with a passion for cake decorating, and was always there cheering on her children at their games. Her home was filled with love, laughter, and something delicious cooking in the kitchen.
Her strength and devotion were never more evident than after the loss of her daughter, Sandra Ragusa, at just 23 years old. June, together with her husband Michael, lovingly raised her young grandson, Anthony Tacaraya, as their own. After Michael’s passing six years later, she continued to raise him with unwavering love and strength.
She lived a full and beautiful life, traveling the world and embracing every moment. Later in life, she found love again and shared many meaningful years with her husband, Frederick Ciesla, with whom she traveled extensively.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Michael, Robert, James, and Donna Bridges (Wayne); her grandchildren: Anthony Tacaraya, Laura, Jennifer, Greg, Jacob, and Jason; Her siblings Ronald Marshall and Barbara Logan and many nieces, nephews, cousins and all who were blessed to know her. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Michael Ragusa and Frederick Ciesla, and her daughter, Sandra Lee Ragusa and her sister Carole Lowry.
Her love and spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
If love could have kept her here, she would have lived forever.
A service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at noon
