Katharine was a wonderful mother to two children. A son, Troy, 31 and a daughter, Courtney, 26. She always put her children before anyone else and was dedicated to bettering her life in order to provide for them. Katharine was a strong, independent woman who started working her way up from being a nurse at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, PA to becoming the Chief Operating Officer at Village on the Isle in Venice, FL later in life. She accomplished all of this with minimal formal education and was very successful. She also had a dire love for animals and even rehabbed an abandoned squirrel named “Peanut” that she cared for all the way up until her passing. Nothing could ever diminish her spirits, as she was full of joy and life and continued to carry herself the way she had before the cancer became relevant. As life progressed she dreamed of moving back to Pennsylvania to be surrounded by the beauty and nature that is offered there. Although those dreams didn’t become a reality, she made it clear that she would like her ashes spread over the town where it all began, over Irving Cliff in Honesdale, PA.
Katharine is survived by her extraordinary mother, Gail Margraf of Palm Harbor, FL, her loving children, Troy Harbour of Pleasant Mount, PA (wife, Sophie Harbour; son, Luke Harbour; daughter, Zoe Harbour), Courtney Rak (Weidner) of Sarasota, FL (husband, Alan Rak; daughter, Hailey Rak), her two admirable brothers, Peter Margraf of Merrick, NY and Gerald Margraf of Bethany, PA, her altruistic sister, Elizabeth Brewer of Palm Harbour, FL.
She is proceeded in death by her father Peter Margraf of Palm Harbour, FL who was someone that she idolized her entire life and looked forward to meeting him again.
