Ernie was raised on a homestead with 2 brothers and one sister. His father passed when he was only six, and Ernie developed the leadership skills to care for his family. He learned to live with little, make use of everything, and became a sturdy and industrious man.
He spent four years in the Air Force where he worked on aircraft radios, and later had his own electronics business and tree nursery. In 1954 he married his soulmate Ann, and they spent nearly 70 years together.
He is survived by his wife Ann, sister Charlotte, son David, daughter Julie, and three grandchildren: J.C., Mike and Krista.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, January 18th at 1 p.m. at Grace Life Church: 1801 N Lockwood Ridge Rd Sarasota, FL 34234. In lieu of flowers, Ernie has requested donations in his name to Grace Life Church food pantry or your local Salvation Army.
