

Larry was born in Beloit, Wisconsin on December 16, 1931. He was the only child of Morris and Ronia (Nee Baskin) Golberg.
He loved his hometown and his alma mater, Beloit College, also receiving a master’s degree at Indiana University in economics. It was at Beloit College that he met his former spouse, Nancy Reinicke (now deceased). Drafted into the Army, Larry and Nancy were stationed in Bremerhaven Germany. Upon return, they lived in Richmond IL, Chicago and eventually settled in Evanston where they raised their family.
Larry spent his career in the insurance industry, beginning at Prudential in Chicago, later working at CNA, running his own company, First Penn Pacific, and retiring from Zurich American. He had many hobbies, including collecting stamps, coins, and glass paperweights, watch repair, ham and CB radio, garage sales, art fairs, theatre, antiquing, and motorcycle riding. He served as a trustee for Oakton Community College in Illinois, served on the Keep Des Plaines Beautiful (KDPB) and The Des Plaines Sculpture Park advisory boards and was the devoted keeper of the family tree.
He is survived by his three children, Susan (Michael) Schneider, Gail Eisner (John) and Karen Kramer and 6 grandchildren, Stephanie and Tim Hawkins, Jenn and Julia Eisner, and Megan and Maxwell Kramer. Also, his cousin, Florence Utay who was like a sister to him and Lula Renshaw, cherished friend.
Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park is in charge of the arrangements. No services have been planned at this time.
