Leonard was a graduate of East New York Vocational High School, class of 1948. He then went on to serve with the United States Army during the Korean War.
He had a career as an Electro-Mechanical Designer in the electronics industry.
Leonard was a kind, gentle family man. He enjoyed fishing, was a ham radio operator, and was a proud member of the Jewish War Veterans.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara; his sister, Harriet Isserlus, and brother, Arthur Kay.
Leonard is survived by his daughter, Beth Cicchetti (James), his son, David Katz (Chuck Whittington); and grandchildren, Vincent, Samantha, Jonathan and Zachary Cicchetti.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at 11:00 am at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL, 34232. A graveside committal service will follow at Temple Beth Sholom Cemetery, 801 Circus Boulevard, Sarasota, FL 34232.
