Lois Y. Henry, loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother went to our Lord Friday, January 27, 2023. Born in Middletown, OH on April 8, 1928 to John Younger and Edna Marquardt Younger.
Lois was a graduate of the Central Academy of Art, Cincinnati, OH and was a Commercial Artist until she married Robert P. Henry in 1952. They were married for 54 years until his death in 2006.
During her lifetime, she volunteered for the American Cancer Society, a breast cancer survivor for 52 years, she helped women diagnosed with breast cancer make treatment choices and cope with their cancer diagnosis and treatment. She was a Docent Emeritus of the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art. A devote catholic and member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and formerly a member of St. Martha’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by her two children, Amy Henry (Edward) and Douglas (Julie) Henry and two grandchildren, Ethan Wilfong and Lauren Wilfong. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband and four siblings.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Avenue, Sarasota, FL 34232.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 10 AM at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 702 Valley Forge Boulevard, Sun City Center, FL 33573.
