LuAnn Robinson Clayton 88, passed away peacefully at Tidewell Hospice, Lakewood Ranch February 25, 2025. She was born in Merritt, Illinois February 13, 1937 to Albert Stewart Robinson and Ina Mae Neece. She graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1955 and moved to Joliet, Illinois directly after graduation. She met her future husband Frederick Clayton on a blind date set up by her sister in law Doris and Fred's mother Geneva. They married on December 21, 1956.
LuAnn is predeceased by her daughter Julie Ann Clayton Butler and her great-granddaughter Laya Nicole Gunther.
She leaves behind her husband Fred, son Randy Clayton, daughter Lesley (Dean) Gunther, grandsons Nickolas Gunther and Christopher Butler. Great-granddaughter Olivia Gunther, great-grandson Chris Webster and great-great-grandson Grayson.
LuAnn worked as an executive secretary in a brokerage firm for many years, eventually retiring from the Sarasota County Stormwater Department. LuAnn was an excellent seamstress and loved British mystery television.
Services will be private at a later date at the Palms Memorial Cemetery Sarasota, Florida.
