Margaret Stephanie Boyle

Margaret Stephanie Boyle (née LeCoat), 95, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026, in Sarasota, Florida. Born on June 29, 1930, in Jersey, Channel Islands, United Kingdom, Margaret lived a life of remarkable grace, deep faith, and devoted love for her family.

Margaret grew up on the island of Jersey, where as a young woman she bore witness to one of the most pivotal moments of the twentieth century, the D-Day invasion of Normandy. The Channel Islands held the singular and sobering distinction of being the only British territory occupied by German forces during World War II, and Margaret's early years were shaped by the resilience and fortitude that would define her throughout her long life.

After meeting the love of her life, Alex (Alexander) Boyle, a native of Donegal, Ireland, Margaret immigrated to the United States and the two were united in marriage in November 1953. Together, they built a full and beautiful life, settling in Smithtown, New York, where Margaret embraced her cherished role as a devoted wife and mother to her four children.

A cornerstone of her community, Margaret was widely known for her generous volunteer service with Saints Philip & James Catholic Church in St. James, New York. Her dedication to her faith and to Catholic charitable works continued well into her retirement years, a testament to the values she held most dear. Margaret was also a gifted artist whose landscape paintings reflected both her keen eye for beauty and her quiet, creative spirit.

In the 1990s, Margaret and Alex retired to Sarasota, Florida, where Alex, a skilled home builder, built the home in which they would spend their golden years together. They shared six decades of marriage until Alex’s passing in Sarasota in 2013.

Margaret is survived by her four beloved children: Stephen Boyle, Susan Reese and her husband Bobby, Kevin Boyle and his wife Susan, and Sandra Aranibar and her husband Richard. She is also survived by seven cherished grandchildren: Thomas Slawinski, Mary Boyle, Stephen Boyle II, John Boyle, Alexander Boyle, Sarah Boyle, and Kayla Boyle. She is further survived by her dear sister, Patricia Baudains.

Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alex Boyle; her father, William (Bill) LeCoat; and her mother, Sarah (Sally) LeCoat (née Buxton).

Margaret Stephanie Boyle was a woman of quiet strength, steadfast faith, and enduring love. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
