Maria was born on December 25, 1959, in Palau Coahuila, Mexico to the late Jesus Tovar and Amalia Oviedo. Maria worked for the Sarasota School Board for over 30 years assisting students and teachers with everyday activities and support.
Maria loved to cook, to see people smile and spend her free time playing bingo with friends and family. She was an active member of St. Jude Catholic Church and traveled with the church group to help others. Maria was active in assisting people who recently located to Sarasota from other parts of the world to adapt and go through the process of becoming US citizens. Over the years her kids have grown to see Maria work hard to also become a US citizen in 2001 and accomplish being a homeowner.
Maria has gone through the hardship of also raising other family members’ children because they themselves could not do it. She will always be remembered as someone who does not hold back telling the truth and being a kindhearted person who has impacted many friends, family and extended family members.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Francisco Orduno, her parents and siblings, Fortunato Vazquez, Virjilio Vazquez, Juana Vazquez and Rosalio Vazquez.
