Martin Jack Telles passed on May 7th 2024. Marty was born to Sam and Rose Broitman Telles on May 7th 1948 in Brooklyn, New York. After graduating from New Utrecht High School in Brooklyn in 1966 he continued his education at Pace University completing a Bachelors of Business Administration in 1973.
Marty’s career was marked by senior leadership roles in the investment management and funds business including serving as Director of Marketing at Royal Alliance, EVP and Chief Marketing Officer at AXA Advisors and Senior Vice President at Oppenheimer Funds.
All who know Marty will remember him as a relentless mentor and a fierce advocate for developing talent. Even in retirement, Marty never stopped mentoring, actively involved in Score New Jersey, a mentorship organization advising small business owners in affiliation with the Small Business Administration.
Marty could easily spend hours sitting on the beach with his beloved wife of 43 years, Ina, or on his roof deck reading a book, polishing his Mustang, cheering on the Yankees and Giants, honoring veterans, and of course, spending time with his three beautiful daughters Jennifer Tindall, Selene Byron and Randi Leone, his granddaughters Rosalie Byron - age 12 and Riley Leone - age 6, his grandson Quincy Byron age 10 and his sons in law Matthew Tindall, Richard Byron and Jeffrey Leone. Marty’s sisters Rochelle Weil and Phyllis Badanes will remember his endless energy and drive to assist them, his nieces and nephews and anyone else he met!
Marty’s funeral will be held at noon, May 13th at Louis Suburban Chapel, 13-01 Broadway, Fair Lawn, New Jersey. The family will be gathering at 11am to receive visitors at the chapel in advance of the service. Directly following the service, Marty will be interred at New Cedar Park Cemetery in 735 Forest Avenue, Paramus, New Jersey All attending are invited to Ina and Marty’s home at 14 Baccarat Court, Montville, NJ for continued remembrances. Shiva will be observed at Ina’s home. In addition to gathering on Monday, visitors are also invited to Ina’s home between 1 and 3pm and 5:30 -7:30 on Tuesday, May 14th and Wednesday, May 15th.
