Mary Lapio of Sarasota, FL since 1985 and formerly of Oakville, CT, died October 23, 2013 at the age of 91.
Mary was an active member of St. Boniface Episcopal Church and over the years volunteered in many capacities including her favorites, the St. Boniface Thrift Shop and Church School Program and most recently the Knitting Group where she shared her expertise in crocheting.
Preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Vito Lapio (1995), Mary is survived by her loving family; daughter, Anita Countryman and husband, Frank; son, David Lapio and wife, Ruth; Granddaughters, Amanda Countryman Strunin and husband, Keith, and Jennifer Countryman; and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Aunt and a caring friend to many. She will be deeply missed by her family and her many friends. Everyone at St. Boniface will miss her cookies and cakes.
Burial at Palms-Robarts Funeral Home & Memorial Park was private. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, November 24 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Boniface Episcopal Church, 5615 Midnight Pass Road, Sarasota, FL. A reception will follow immediately after the service in the Boniface Community Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Boniface Thrift Shop or St. Boniface Church.
