

Mary was born April 12, 1919 to Joseph and Catherine Egan, growing up in the Bay City and Essexville Michigan areas. She earned a Master’s degree from Eastern Michigan University in 1963 and taught at St. John the Evangelist Catholic school in Davison and taught special needs students at Davison Middle School for several years.
Her Catholic faith was very important to Mary, she belonged to St. John the Evangelist for many years and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She continued attending Mass for decades after she moved to Florida. Mary enjoyed sharing the harvest from her fruit trees in Florida, taking dance classes, and being at family gatherings. Mary was a crossword puzzler extraordinaire.
The family would like to thank Mary Lynne for caring for our matriarch for so many years. It was the epitome of care giving for the last few years, she and Julio’s sacrifice and dedication have been extraordinary.
Mary is survived by her daughter Mary (Julio), sons Paul (Janice), Patrick (Kathy), and Mark. She leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her two husbands, Gilbert James Easter and Michael Leininger, her children Angela Baier, Patricia Daugherty, Sharon Lendvoy, and Eric Easter, her grandchildren Eric Daugherty and Lori (Daugherty) Snyder, and daughter-in-law Mary Ann Easter. Preceding her also were her siblings-Ursula, Loretta, Michael, Catherine, and Anna.
