Mary Grace Santilli, age 97, of Sarasota, Florida passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022. Mary was born February 23, 1925 in Steubenville, Ohio to the late Joseph and Mariannina Santilli. She also lived in Staten Island, NY, and Sarasota, FL.
Mary Grace was a devoted Catholic who dedicated her life to her parents, worked hard, and was admired and respected for her warm, compassionate, and generous spirit. Having been taught strong work ethics, she worked 42 years, from 1943-1985, at Procter & Gamble in various capacities - first packing Ivory Soap, then giving tours, and later working as a lab technician for 15 years.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed traveling, especially to her parent's native country, Italy. She grew up loving baseball and attending Yankee games with her family. Her favorite pastimes included reading, movies, puzzles, crocheting, and needlepoint. She was well-known for the numerous special and unique afghans she crocheted for family, friends, and donations.
Mary Grace’s long, virtuous life stands as a remarkable legacy, leaving those who loved her with treasured memories.
She is survived by her sister, Angelina Phillips; and five nieces and nephews.
Mary is preceded in death by her three brothers, Carlo, John, and Joseph Santilli; her sister, Liberatta Santilli; and her parents Joseph and Mariannina Santilli.
A visitation for Mary will be held Friday, July 1, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL 34232. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Sarasota Memorial Park, 5833 S Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34231.
