Mary Louise Weed passed away on Friday, June 24th, 2022. She was a loving mother, faithful wife, cherished Nanna and great-grandmother. She was loved by everyone who met her far and wide. Born on July 12th, 1935 in Rantoul, IL she married her husband, Currie Weed on October 13th, 1954 and enjoyed life as a great mom, elementary school teacher, interior designer, renowned antique dealer, avid golfer, slot machine connoisseur and supportive wife, joining Currie on Ford incentive trips and travels around the world. Mary touched lives everywhere she went including Dearborn, Plymouth, and Harbor Springs, Michigan; Atlanta, Georgia; Richmond, Virginia; Birmingham, Alabama; and Sarasota, Florida.
Remembered as “classy” and “sassy”, Mary learned to play golf at age 50; enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas with her best friend, Debbie; loved the 4th of July and Christmas as cherished time with her kids and grandkids; was always “the luckiest” at Texas Hold-Em or Penny Poker; put together special dinners with friends; and provided her family with laughs and love for a lifetime.
Mary was cherished by her entire family. Mary is survived by her husband of 68 years, three children, Jim Weed (Linda), Gail Costello (Mike), and Jon Weed (Kathy); five grandchildren, Mary Louise, Jackson, Julia, Rachel, and Sawyer; and two great-grandchildren, Alex and Mason.
We encourage anyone who has been touched by Mary’s life to make a donation to the First Tee of Northern Michigan in her honor, which was founded by both she and Currie in 2006.
