Matt graduated from Withrow High School in 1969. He then went on to attend The University of Cincinnati for one year.
He played football at Eastern Hills Junior High School and swam for the Anderson Hills Swim Club. Matt was also a member of the Senior Class Choir in high school where he performed in “Sounds of Withrow”.
Matt was incredibly smart and was known as a “walking encyclopedia”. He loved animals and was passionate about World War II history. He also loved building model airplanes, cars and dinosaurs.
Matt was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Montana Jones; and his brother, Daniel Jones.
He is survived by his brother, Michael H. Jones; sister, Alice Jones Smithers; many nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at a later date.
