August 31, 1946 – October 27, 2023
Nicole C. Converse, of Sarasota, FL, passed away Friday, October 27, 2023 following a 9+ year battle with multiple cancers.
Nicole was born in Orleans, France and, for most of her early adult life, resided in the village of Chaumont-sur-Tharone nearby Orleans, in the area of the Loire valley.
She and her then husband worked for the French company CGR Medical, and were, during 1971, relocated together with their two sons to the Baltimore, MD area. Later the family moved to the greater Chicago area where Nicole later joined, during 1975, American Airlines, a firm for which she worked 20+ years before retiring, during 1995. While employed in the Chicago area, she mostly was involved with customer service management roles including being a “Skipper” at the American Airlines’ Admirals Club located at Chicago-O’Hare Airport. It was there that she met her current husband.
Later, during 1986, she assumed sales and marketing management roles with the Eastern Division – American Airlines (Passenger Sales), until the time of her 1995 American Airlines retirement.
Thereafter, she relocated to Southport, CT and opted to form her own company, Converse Premium Services, LLC, a firm targeting high-end leisure & corporate travel, as well as global event & meeting planning. Under her stewardship, her firm became quite successful and globally developed a reputation for “service extraordinaire”.
She was a woman of intellect, charm, and grace who was a true lady, magnificent wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and mentor to so many around the globe --- always putting others’ needs before those of her own.
She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey; sons, Vincent Blot of Sarasota, FL, and Fabien Blot of Helsinki, Finland; grandchildren, Oscar, Robert, Chloe, and Noel Blot, all of Helsinki.
May she now be at peace.
A celebration of life for Nicole will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Laurel Oak Country Club, 2700 Gary Player Boulevard, Sarasota, FL 34240.
