Norma grew up in Fort Wayne, IN, and owned The Bridal Shop. She married Robert Roembke, and they were married for 57 years. They moved to Sarasota in 1976, and she became very involved in the community, volunteering at church, Marie Selby Gardens, and Doctors’ Hospital where she ran the gift shop. Norma was also very active in the Sarasota Republican Party and served as President of the Sarasota Republican Women's Club. She loved Sarasota and always stayed up-to-date on issues and helped people run for office.
After Robert’s death in 2004, Norma travelled extensively with good friends, especially enjoying her times in Sorrento, Italy. She was very active at Concordia Lutheran Church where she frequently assisted with luncheons and other special events. All of her activities brought her into contact with many people who became her friends, and she will be remembered fondly by those who crossed her path.
Norma is survived by her brother David Meyer (Susan) of Fort Wayne, IN, and her sister-in-law, Debbie Meyer of Sarasota, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Roembke and her siblings, Phyllis Baker and Bill Meyer. Her family was important to her, and times spent with them made her very happy.
A memorial service for Norma will be held Thursday, January 20, 2022, at 3:00 PM at Concordia Lutheran Church, 2185 Wood St., Sarasota, FL 34237, with Pastor Stephen Gaulke officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Norma may be made to Concordia Lutheran Church.
