When I get married 52 years ago you become my brother in law and welcome me to a family. I’m very grateful and proud to become part of  your family.  You will always stay in my heart.

As you are on the way to your final rest, please know what a special place in my heart you hold. I cherish so many childhood memories from weekends at your house (which was the most fun place to go!!) to endless refills of your famous plouf. I’ll never forget the first time I saw you cook a lobster and how mortified I was, but you made me laugh and it was delicious. I remember the fun, swanky get togethers and celebrations. I remember meeting you for the first time when I was around 5 years old and here I am at 42 with a heart full of memories. You made an impact on many lives. You were a humble and stern man, with a gigantic personality and strong presence, and humor and sarcasm to boot. Thank you for all the memories. Thank you for raising such an incredible man who I’ve been so lucky to call my uncle - who is definitely more like a father to me. Thank you for making me feel like your own granddaughter. May your memory be forever a blessing and may your soul rest in heavenly peace.

I had the pleasure of being a caretaker for Mr Solodko for several years. Mr Oscar and Rose are very dear to my heart. We spent a lot of our time reminiscing about life, memories, and sharing about our families. I am blessed to have met such  an exceptional, respectful, good, noble person. Thank you for allowing me to share these years with you. Mr Oscar, you will be greatly missed .

Osa... lots of memories and lessons you taught me. I will never forget the time we spent in Loomis, eating the best food and a lot of it and the trips you took me on. So many memories from good times and bad. You never judged, you were always there to listen. You loved the ones you cared about and you never pretended to like the ones you didn't. You called things as they were and never fluffed the truth. You were a man's man... a rarity. Rest easy Grandpa. You will be remembered.
