Patricia Anne Walsh

Pat was married for 69 years to Joseph Walsh, who predeceased her in October 2023.

After raising their daughter, Pat attended the U of Pittsburgh, earning a degree in elementary education, and subsequently worked in Upper St Clair, PA schools as an elementary school teacher for 20 years.

In retirement, Pat and Joe moved to Florida to enjoy the beaches and sun. They had many good years in Florida – making friends, playing bridge, enjoying reading, time by the pool, and the occasional game of tennis.

Pat enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting and hosting parties at MacArthur beach in Venice, Fl.

Pat and Joe were avid, lifelong Steelers and Pirates fans. She loved spending time with family and took particular enjoyment in being with her two grandsons.

Pat was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Walsh; parents, Edward and Florence Messer; and a sister, Dolly Steinkirchner. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Walsh (Kurt Stiefvater) of Glen Allen, VA; grandsons, Darin Stiefvater (Allison) of Williamsburg, VA ; and Reed Stiefvater of Salt Lake City, along with two beloved great-grandchildren.

There will be a funeral Mass at Incarnation Catholic Church, 2929 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota, FL at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday May 13, with family greeting friends one half-hour before the Mass. Burial will be immediately following at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota.
