Pedro Jorge Castelo Branco Sampaio

Pedro Jorge Castelo Branco Sampaio was one of 13 siblings. Born in the small town of Barbalha, Ceara in Brazil, he was raised by his loving parents Leao Sampaio and Odorina Castelo Branco Sampaio. Pedro had an incredible life, filled with adventure. He lived in Italy for a year, traveled the world for business and pleasure, drove from Rio de Janeiro to New York in a jeep with friends, married a beautiful woman, Christina, and had 3 children, Gustavo, Maria Clara and Julie.

He had many incredible achievements, such as working his way up to Deputy Director General of INTELSAT and President of two telecommunication companies, Embratel and Sita.

Pedro loved champagne, great food and most of all, his family. He always tirelessly supported his wife and kids to the best of his ability. He was truly an angel on earth.

He was known for his sweet and loving demeanor. He loved hugs and kisses. Even throughout his battle with dementia, Pedro's warm approach never changed.

A few years ago Pedro told his daughter Maria Clara in a conversation: "We are all just passing through here" and continued to talk about the impermanence of this earthly life. He was always so wise. His time on earth as Pedro is done, and now he is in heaven encircled in the love and peace that he so deserves.
