With heavy hearts, we announce the untimely death of Philaphonh “Kevin” Phommathep (Sarasota, Florida), born in Vientiane, Laos, who passed away on July 14, 2020 at the age of 38. He is survived by his Fiancé, Janette Arcos; his Parents Sangkhom Phommathep and Naen Phommathep; his siblings, Philaphanh Phommathep (Marible Phommathep), Marivanh Phommathep, Peter Phommathep, Anny Phommathep, Jacky Phommathep (John Avalos); his Nephew, Noe Phommathep; his Nieces, Khloe Phommathep, Naila Phommathep, Jaylin Avalos, and Jamie Avalos.
Phil graduated from Booker High School and furthered his education in computer science at Sarasota County Technical Institute. He was employed at Dental Care Alliance since 2016 as an Information Technology Specialist, and he was then promoted to Information Technology Support Desk Manager since the beginning of 2020. As a side job, he helped others with repairing and building computers.
Phil was the eldest of six children, and provided guidance for all of his younger siblings. He put others before himself, and made everyone feel included. Phil knew food brings people together, and he would often cook to unite family, friends, and peers. In addition, he was an avid gamer and found joy in traveling. Phil was compassionate, generous, and always chose kindness. These details are a significant but small portion of who Phil was.
In this troubling time, may we also pray for the healing of the bereaved family and friends of Phil, and that his soul may rest in eternal peace.
Flowers may be delivered to the family home at 3427 Dante Dr. Sarasota, FL 34235. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.palmsrobartsfuneralhome.com for the Phommathep family.
