

Raymond was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on May 20, 1930, the son of the late Raymond Schuler and Emelda LaBrun. He entered the US Navy in 1948 and was stationed at the Green Cove Springs Naval Air Station. Following his discharge in 1953, he married Florence Ann Jacobs, and they settled in Clinton, Connecticut, where they raised their four children. Raymond worked as a newspaper typesetter for the New Haven Register/Journal Courier for 35 years. Following his retirement in 2000, he and Florence moved to Camelot East Village in Sarasota, Florida, where they enjoyed participating in village activities, spending time with friends and family, travelling, and enjoying the Florida sunshine.
He enjoyed working and tinkering on home projects and automobiles, baseball, and solving crossword puzzles. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Raymond is survived by his four children: James (Terry), Cheryl (Jeff Burstein), Deborah (Ron Bland, deceased) and Tami (Bruce Hyneck), along with 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held at the Sarasota National Cemetery on Monday, March 23rd at 2:00 pm. A Celebration of Life reception will be held at The Camelot East Village Club House from 3:00-4:30 pm.
