Virtually every memory I have of Florida somehow involves my brother Rick.  When I was younger and would visit, we would always have to play at least one basketball game to prove who the better basketball player was.  It's funny how I don't even remember who won those basketball games, just the fun and (sometimes) the injuries that occurred during those games.  They could get quite competitive.  Playing a round of golf was another thing that we usually did whenever I would visit.  My favorite story of all time involves golf, Rick and my bachelor party.  For those who know the story, all I have to say is the classic line I don't need a driver's license, I was using my 3 wood.  That line will live in infamy!  I have so many great memories and stories of the times I spent with Rick and will really miss those times.  There was never a dull moment when we would get together.  I miss you bro, and will always.  My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family and all his friends.

Sali and Famiy sorry about Rick. I know that you miss him so just think about the love and memories he will always be in your heart ..

We did not know Rick but we know his parents, Jerry and Ivy. We had been praying for all of you in church and Bible Study. There are no words that will ease the loss so you will continue to be in our prayers. And know that you will see  him again.

Sali,Jason, Togg, Sean & Colin - As your next door neighbors it is difficult not to see and hear Rick's voice everyday.  We saw how you both honorably raised Sean & Colin.  Rick was obviously a wonderful dad and a great neighbor. He helped us out so many times and always with a smile.  Our prayers go out to you and we will miss him terribly.

No words can express how I yearn to say to Sali Sue, Jason, Togi, Sean, and Colin how sorry I am that Rick is gone. He took my roommate and he took my admiration. He was my friend.  He always cared deeply for those he loved.  A better spirit never walked this earth. My love and sympathy to all his family and friends.

I have not seen my first baseball coach in years but he had a huge impact on my days playing baseball and life. He was a great man and mentor to many and he will be missed but not forgotten.

I worked with Rick many years ago at Yoder Aluminum and have gotten to know Colin and Sean through the mutual friends of our son, Ryan. Our thoughts and prayers for your family for peace, comfort and strength.

Sali, Jason, Togg, Sean and Collin; Rick was a pretty awesome person I have known him for 40 plus years, back in the high school days to present.  He was a good man, loved his baseball in high school and I believe his basketball too. He had a good heart loved life and loved you all very much. He was always willing to help others in need. He will be missed greatly. We will keep him alive in our memories.

His son, Colin, and I are good friends. Rick used to let a bunch of us come over at night to hangout, have a bonfire, whatever and crash in the living room. In the morning, he would help us make a big, yummy breakfast! He was always so welcoming and I have had so many great memories at the Burns' because of his hospitality. He was such a nice, friendly and happy guy and I feel lucky to have met him. I will never forget the memories I had at his house and I thank him for raising such a great guy like Colin who is one of my best friends!
