

After a long bout of happiness and fulfillment, Robert Antrim passed away on April 20, 2026, at the age of 93.
Bob was born on a farm in Dallas County, Iowa to Clyde and Dorothy Antrim. He attended a one room school until moving to Des Moines. During the Korean War, he served in the Legal office at Great Lakes Naval Base and after discharge was a loan officer at Des Moines Savings and Loan, and was in the home building business.
In 1969 he and his wife Rose, who he met in Homeroom 17, and their three daughters moved to Sarasota where he worked at Coast Federal Savings and Loan where he became President and CEO in 1974 and retired from in 1991.
Along with Rose, his wife of 72 years; daughters, Cathy Antrim, Beth Antrim and Diane Stroud (Clarence); he is survived by his sisters, Betty Sheeks, Juanita Keith and Phyllis Antrim; grandchildren, Leigh Melton (Ryan), Bobby Larner, Eli Stroud (Cameron), Sarah Chambliss (Tyler); great grandchildren, Emma, Cameron, Colt, River, Camden and Storm; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Bob was kind, had a great sense of humor, and was generous with his time and resources serving on Boards for Girls Inc, ARGUS, Selby Gardens, Plymouth Harbor, Senior Friendship Center, Foundation of Sunnyside Village, the organization of LPGA Tournaments at Bent Tree County Club, President of United Way, and the Caledonian Club (golf between Dunfermline, Scotland and Sarasota).
He enjoyed raising monarch butterflies, loved to garden, especially planting seeds he brought home from other countries, and the game of Golf. He is a member of the Church of Palms.
Bob was predeceased by his parents; brother, Donald Antrim; son-in-law, Rick Wilkins, and grandson, Davey Allison.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 9 at 10:30 A.M. at Sunnyside Village Chapel, 5201 Bahia Vista Street, Sarasota, FL 34232.
