Robert was one of thirteen children born to parents Eliza Lightsey Campbell and Riley Campbell. The Campbell family were early pioneers to Sarasota and settled in the Fruitville area in 1904. Robert was a proud veteran who served in the US Army. He provided for his family through his employment with the Alfab Company as a designer of metal and glass works for some of the area's leading architects. This experience helped Robert in inventing and obtaining patents in a moveable bathtub seat. Robert loved poetry and even had some of his works published. He would often recite his works at family reunions for the enjoyment of all.
Robert is pre-deceased by his brothers and sisters as well as his wife Marleen Siegel Campbell who passed away in 2015.
Robert leaves behind his daughter Ginger Otis, his son Jimmy Campbell and two grandchildren, Steven and Jennifer Otis.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.palmsmemorial.com for the Campbell family.
