Dave and Paul were best friends which is how I met Paul.  We had some great times.  I know he and Dave are having a great time in heaven picking up where they left off!


Paul was an amazing, encouraging, caring principal. It was a privilege to work for him. He had a huge impact on the students, families, and staff. 

Mr. Cochran (I really never called him Paul) gave me my very first public school teaching position back in 1992. He was an outstanding principal! I have many great memories of working with him at Heights until he retired! He gave me lots of great advice through the years. I will never forget him telling me that I would be a great first grade teacher! I taught first grade for 23 years!!!!! I cherish my years at Heights. He was a big part of those great memories! 

Paul gave me my first educator position in Lee County. He was a good man and my friend. I worked for him twice during my career and thought of him often when I became a principal. He inspired me to choose that career path. 

Best boss/Principal one could ever have. Rest In Peace, Paul.

Dave introduced us to Paul as we dropped by his apartment.  He was gracious and welcoming to Dan and I!  A truly kind soul; and a good person. We had a “cold beer” as Dave would say and sat and conversed on his couch. 1979, first year teaching at Suncoast! Another great principal truly dedicated to our students!  He will be sorely missed! Amen!!

Paul was a dedicated educator and principal. It was a pleasure to work with him. I am sorry to hear of his passing and send my condolences.  

Robert "Paul" Cochrane was a great friend to many.  A successful educator with the Ft. Myer's Schools, he helped many, many students over the years.

Being from West Virginia and going to WV University, he was an avid WV sports fan.  Paul is survived by his nephew.
