Mr. Z was my high school algebra teacher. I was just writing in my journal about how he’s the one person from my past I would want to talk to. I am devastated to find just now of his passing. I wanted to reach out to him and let him know that 30 years since his classes, he is my most favorites teacher. I ended up being incredibly successful with mathematics and obtained advanced degrees. His math notebooks were something I kept through my academic career. Now that my son is in high school, I desperately wish I still had my notebooks. I wanted to share my career success with him and encourage that he take those notebooks and lessons and digitize them to share with students. I always struggled with math until differential equations. I applied the same rigor that Mr. Z required in his class notebooks to every class I took. One day in DiffeQ, math clicked. I was successful in every class after that, including orbital mechanics. It was all easy and it was because of him and his approach to mathematics instruction.  He was THE best. 

It was exceedingly sad to learn of Bob's passing. He was more than a good friend and exemplary teammate to me. His passing is akin to losing some of my life's best memories.
For those of us privileged to know him, he was an ideal. He was our hero, our friend, and a model of how to live a life - a fierce competitor on the track, with a dry sense of humor, and a staunch loyalty to his friends.
I never imagined we would lose him.

Am very sorry to learn of Bob’s passing. As a member of Molloy’s cross country and track teams when Bob returned to teach after his Georgetown days, it was my privilege to get to know him even briefly. Bob was always kind, caring and willing to quietly share whatever he could to help us younger Stanners. Bob exemplified our motto, “Non scholae sed vitae.” Godspeed Bob.

So sorry to learn of Mr. Zieminski's passing.  He was my freshman math teacher at Molloy and he was terrific.  I later became an engineer and am now a high school math teacher myself.  So, he definitely inspired me.  I remember that he always started class with a prayer to Blessed Marcellin Champagnat.  I could tell he was a terrific human being and great teacher even at my young age.  My sincerest condolences.

My deepest condolences to the Zeiminski family on Mr. Zeiminski’s passing. Although I didn’t graduate from Molloy until 1975, I was a runner on the track team and a student of track and field records. I was always in awe of the national 4 x 880 record Mr. Zeiminski was a part of when I used to pass it up on the wall in the track locker room. Also, I lived in Rosedale, Queens in my Molloy days and used to see Mr. Zeiminski running in Brookville Park; I believe he told me he lived on Edgewood Street. He still was an imposing figure…RIP Mr. Z.

Dear Liz and Family: I am truly sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. My mother had passed away from myasthenia gravis. I remember, in my earlier days at Molloy, my wife, Connie (who passed away in 2013),  me, Tom and Peggy Burke visited you at your apartment. I leaned back in your large recliner, and the next thing I knew, my feet were pointing at the ceiling; there was no noise when the chair went over backwards. I knew you had gone to the west coast (Oregon). I retired from Molloy in 2010.  Please accept my deepest condolences. Mark Lipset

To the Zieminski family….. 
Sadly, I’ve never met you but wanted to share what your husband and father meant to me. 
I was a student at CMHS and graduated in the class of 90. I never had Mr Z- quite frankly I was never smart enough. One day he called me into his office to talk. Needless to say, I was actually scared and thought I did something wrong. He went on to tell me had been watching my times on the track and was offering help to be a personal coach. Over the next two years, he and I battled on the oval.  He pushed me and yet knew how much I could take.  Some days I was chasing him.  He made me better. I ran track in college because he made me better. I have school records 34 years later at CMHS because he called me into his office and showed he cared for me and my future.  I’m sorry if his time with me was time away from you all. He was very selfless like that and something I will never forget. God bless you all and thank you for letting him make me better on and off the track. 

He was my math teacher in Archbishop Molloy and he was great. I am sorry to see his passing.

Mr. Z was the best math teacher I've ever had or have seen since. In all my years in education (as a student and 12 years as a professional), I've never seen another math teacher explain things in a way that everyone understands it like Mr. Z did.

Even better was his dry sense of humor. The gradual understanding of all of his inside jokes as the year went on was like the ultimate side quest in his class and one of the most rewarding experiences I can recall as a student. There might not be any such thing as an extra notebook point, but there is such a thing as leaving a positive lasting impression on young minds.  And in that regard, Mr Z's extra points runeth over. 

Bob was a great athlete - that goes without question;
he was an even a greater friend!!!

As a former runner that passed through the halls of both Archbishop Molloy H.S. and Georgetown University a few years after Bob I can attest to the legend we was at both institutions;  not only as the great athlete he was but of perhaps being an even greater person.
