

Roberto Sembiante, age 75, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025. Roberto was born on October 11, 1950, in Asmara, Eritrea. Roberto lived in many different places over the course of his life including Eritrea, Ethiopia, Libya, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Italy, and moved to Sarasota in 2001 where he lived out his life. He was preceded in death by his parents Luciano and Lucilla Sembiante. He pursued his studies in civil engineering between 1965 and 1970, earning his degree from Guglielmo Marconi College in Tripoli, Libya. Throughout his career, Roberto worked in construction, specializing in both commercial and residential projects. Roberto loved F1 motor racing, the outdoors, and the satisfaction of building and creating with his own hands. He also proudly served in the Italian National Army from 1973-1974. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Tiziana, and his daughter, Sabrina. He is also survived by his elder brother Riccardo and his wife Rosanna, and their daughter Gabriella, her husband Maurizio, and their children Aurora and Federico; and by his younger brother Fabrizio and his wife Fedra, and their sons Lorenzo and Roberto. Those who knew Roberto will remember his mischievous charm, courage, determination, and independent spirit. He lived life on his own terms, and his memory will live on in the many things he built, the stories he shared, and the people who loved him.
