Ronald was a Vietnam War era Veteran having served in the US Navy on the aircraft carrier USS Ranger (CV-61).
He graduated from Jones College in Jacksonville, Florida earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Ronald continued to further his education, graduating from the American Institute of Banking, and the University of Florida School of Banking in Gainesville, Florida. Ronald worked in the banking industry his entire career before retiring in Sarasota, Florida.
Ronald will be remembered for his unconditional love for his family. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. Ronald was always quick with a joke and always helping others in any way he could. His sweet gentle spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
Ronald is survived by his daughter, Michelle Lee Monteau; granddaughter, Rachael Lee Leake; grandson, Jack Anthony Brignoni; brother-in-law, Rick Mixon (Lisa); nephew, Andrew Mixon and niece, Ashley Mixon Jenne.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert Monteau; and his beautiful wife, Sharon Lee Mixon Monteau.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Robert Toale & Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Avenue, Sarasota, Florida 34232.
Graveside services with military honors will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 11:00 am at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Rd. 72, Sarasota, Florida, 34241.
Memorial donations in Ronald's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
