
Ronald “Ron” Charles Summerville, 75, passed away on April 1, 2026. Born on April 20, 1950, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Ron was raised in Maryland, where he spent much of his life before relocating to Sarasota, Florida, following his retirement in 2016.
Ron earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Maryland. He went on to build a successful career in Washington, DC as a banking consultant, earning the respect of colleagues through his dedication, integrity, and expertise. He was known not only for his professional accomplishments, but for his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to providing for his family.
Above all, Ron was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Carol Summerville, whom he married on January 31, 1971; his daughter, Brooke Summerville; his son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Sarah Summerville; his cherished granddaughters, Blakely and Emma Summerville; and his brothers, Don and John Summerville.
Ron will be remembered as a hardworking, kind, and loving man who always put his family first. He found great joy in life’s simple pleasures—spending time on the golf course, tending to his garden, and working with his hands. A true craftsman, Ron loved to tinker and could build or fix just about anything. In retirement, he embraced the opportunity to travel, creating lasting memories with his family and enjoying the freedom of a life well-earned.
His steady presence, generosity, and strength will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
