It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Ruth S. Cohn, beloved mother and grandmother, at the age of 80. Ruth passed away peacefully on September 15, 2023 in Bradenton, FL. She was born on May 20, 1943 to Ester and Ludwig Cohn in Jerusalem, Israel. She married in her early twenties and later pursued a career in psychiatry. She completed her Child and Adolescent Fellowship at the University of Florida in 1989. After completing her training, Ruth moved to Bradenton, FL to practice medicine for the next 32 years. In her professional role, Ruth had a passion for helping patients overcome hardships. She helped turn around the lives of many people and treated everyone with the utmost care and compassion. In her life, as a single mother, she was extremely determined and stronger than anyone we have ever known. She was a tremendous role model for all who knew her and especially to her beloved daughters and grandchildren. Ruth raised two kids all by herself whilst putting herself through the rigor of medical school. As far as she was concerned, anything was possible if you want it badly enough. Our mom took the most pride in the family that she built and not a day went by where she was not checking up on her daughters or doting over her grandchildren. Regardless of how tough she was known to be, she had the biggest heart and loved us profoundly. The funeral took place on September 18, 2023 at Beth Shalom Cemetery with immediate family and close friends. She will forever live in our hearts and memories. She is survived by her brother Gidon, two daughters Erika (Martin) and Adrienne (Asaf) as well as her three grandchildren, Eliana, Andrew and Benjamin.
