

Steve was born October 27, 1922 to Andrew and Katherine (Rosinski) Brzezinski in Cedar, Michigan. He attended Holy Rosary School and graduated from Traverse City High School. He married Esther Jane Sitts on May 4, 1946, at Holy Rosary Church in Isadore, Michigan. Esther, a registered nurse, met Steve when he was in the U.S. Army and while both were working at Hines VA Hospital during WWII.
After their marriage, Steve worked for Illinois Cleaners in the Wheaton and Glen Ellyn, Illinois area. He later had a successful career selling real estate for Baird & Warner. After Steve and Esther raised their 10 children in Glen Ellyn, they moved to Sarasota in 1977, then spent a few years in Plano, Texas, before returning to Sarasota.
The major influences in Steve’s life were his family, his work ethic and his strong Catholic faith. Steve is survived by his children, Kristine (Patrick) Leston of Wheaton, IL, Kathleen (Phil) Saul of Sarasota, Mary (Gordy Mundt) Brzezinski of Lisle, IL, Janet (Dave) Anderson of McKinney, TX, Michael (Jackie) Brzezinski of Lombard, IL, Ann Niewold of Sarasota, FL, Carol Brzezinski of Plano, TX, and Joel (Heather) Brzezinski of McKinney, TX, and by his daughters-in-law Joan Tonne Brzezinski of Lombard, IL, and Mary Ann Brzezinski of Wilmington, NC. He is also survived by his 15 grandchildren Alison Leston, Adam (Andi) Leston, Max (Sarah Harlan) Brzezinski, Joseph Brzezinski, Theresa Brzezinski, Lindsay (Russell) Dyer, Bryan (Elizabeth Etier) Anderson, Tamera Saul, Leah (Daniel) Rathwell, Karl (Roxanna Mason) Mundt, Jordan Brzezinski, Jessalyn Brzezinski, Sarah (Lee) Mathews, Emily Niewold and Ava Brzezinski, and his 7 great-grandchildren Lucas Leston, Sydney Leston, Malcolm Brzezinski, Dylan Brzezinski, Daniel Rathwell, Anderson Dyer, and Hudson Mathews, as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Steve was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Esther, and sons Steven J. Brzezinski and Thomas A. Brzezinski; brothers Andrew (Lillian), John (Melanie), Joseph (Agnes), and Wladyslaw (Cecelia); sisters Micheline (Joe) Pleva, Kathryn (Ray) Betlejewski, Praxides (Adelbert) Joynt, Ann (Frank) Novak and Alice (Sylvester) Bruckner.
