Sybil Berkwits,93, of Sarasota, FL passed away on February 24th, 2022. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Leonard, she is survived by her son, Jory Berkwits, his life partner Kandy Donnelly, grandchildren Tracy Bauman and Ethan Berkwits, four great grandchildren, and her brother, Douglass Mann and his wife, Stephanie.
Sybil was a woman of many interests. In addition to being an exceptional sailor and an energetic real estate broker, she had a deep interest in art and was, herself, an accomplished painter. As an active senior citizen, she revisited her earlier student days, and received her B.A. from USF at the age of 65. Later, she served as a volunteer docent for many years at the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art.
She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her as the kind, sensitive, and loving person that she was. In accordance with her wishes, her ashes will be united with her husband’s and scattered in the Gulf of Mexico on April 14th, on what would have been her 94th birthday.
