Todd Lee Harkins

Todd was born on July 1, 1969, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Robert and Shirley Harkins. For nearly five years, Todd served as a Community Guide at Lakewood Ranch New Home Center, where he took great joy in welcoming visitors, Realtors, and residents and sharing enthusiasm for the community. Previously, he had a career in insurance claims. Todd served as a board member on the Avalon Woods Homeowners Association.

Todd enjoyed spending time at the beach, interior design, working on his home landscape, entertaining, and being with family and friends. He especially loved the Christmas season and took great joy decorating his home for the holiday.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Ronald Harkins Sr. and Shirley Cooper Harkins, and his brother, Robert Ronald Harkins, Jr.

Todd is survived by his nephew, Zachary Tuner and his wife, Emma, and their children, Jackson, Barrett, and Madison; his stepsons, Dylan Quigley and his fiancée, Isabelle Cerami, and Dalton Quigley and his wife, Laurissa, and their two children; and his beloved canine companion, Helen. He is also survived by many extended family members, including cousins, aunts, and uncles. Todd leaves behind many family members and friends in his home state of Maryland.

His coworkers were very dear to him, and he enjoyed spending time with them outside of work. Todd loved socializing, and he was deeply loved by those around him. He had a wide network of close friends and truly loved what he did for a living.

Although he lived in Florida for only six years, Todd embraced the community and built a life there that he truly loved.

Todd’s infectious love of life and natural charisma drew people to him. He had a special way of making others feel valued and cared for, and he was known for giving the very best hugs. Whether spending time with family, friends, neighbors, or coworkers, Todd brought warmth, laughter, and genuine kindness to those around him.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life on Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home, 170 Honore Ave. Sarasota, FL 34232.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Todd’s name to Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue Center, 4951 Lorraine Road, Bradenton, FL 34211.
