Born in Brooklyn, NY, Valerie was a management trainer for the New York New Jersey Port Authority. Valerie was most active with the N.J.W.A.N. and the Hyacinth Foundations. Ms. Jackson was also a member of the Board of Directors for the Beacon Society. Valerie had a great passion of benevolence for the causes she believed in.
Valerie will be sadly missed by her loving mother, Golda Jackson Thompson; her cherished and devoted companion, Frank Merle; her step-father, Probyn Thompson Jr.; her step-brother, Probyn III; and step-sisters, Mary Thompson Hunt, Patricia Sigmon, and LaTonja Thompson; two cherished nieces, Jessica and Gina; and especially an endeared cousin, Evie; as well as a host of relatives and bonded friends.
Valerie was predeceased by her father Leonard in 1994.
