

Virginia was born in Lansing, Michigan March 2, 1926 to Mable and Edward Kocher. At age 14 she met the love of her life, David Walsh, whom delivered newspapers to her home in Detroit. Virginia and David married August 28, 1946. They began their married life in Alma, Michigan while attending college. They lived in several different communities in Michigan. They ultimately settled in Utica, Michigan in 1960 until 1985. While living in Utica, she graduated from Oakland University with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. Virginia was an Elementary teacher for the Utica Community School District.
Virginia and David spent their early retirement split between Grindstone City, Michigan, and Harbor Lights in Venice, Florida. In 1985 they resided full time in Harbor Lights.
Virginia is survived by her sons Michael (Suzanne) Walsh of Hailey, Idaho; David (Cindy) Walsh of Rochester Hills, Michigan; Steven (Debra) Walsh of Port Charlotte, Florida; four grandchildren- Kim (Tony) Morales; Brian (Krista) Walsh; Jeff (Mollie) Walsh, and Jason Walsh, three great grandchildren- Miles, Carson, and Brooks.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, David Walsh in 1994.
She will be dearly missed by her many friends and family. We will always hold her memory close in our hearts.
