Walter William Burk Sr.

A graduate of Seton Hall University of New Jersey, he worked and retired from Otis Elevators and also retired from the United States Postal Service.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Carmen; loving children, Walter W. Burk Jr., Elizabeth Battistone (Anthony), Patricia Burk-Travis, Vanessa Burk, Stephen L. Burk (M. Sheila), Christopher M. Burk (Elyssa) and Christine Brown (Rodney); sisters, Marie Eimil (Javier) and Waltraud Hillmann (Josef); sister-in-laws, Beth Burk and Joan Burk and brother-in-law, Friedrich Dette; 17 cherished grandchildren and 13 nieces and nephews.

Walter is preceded in death by his brothers, William, Robert, Otto and Horst; sister, Erika and parents, Walter and Anna.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 5 PM until 8 PM at Palms Robarts Funeral Home, Sarasota, FL.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 AM Friday, April 29, 2016 at Incarnation Catholic Church, Sarasota, FL.

Walter will be laid to rest at Sarasota National Cemetery at 12:30 PM following the service.
