Wendy K. Turbyfill, age 67, of Rotonda West, Florida entered into the presence of the Lord on Monday, February 7, 2022 with her family by her side. Wendy was born March 12, 1954 in East Chicago, IN. A loving wife, mother and grandmother devoted to raising her children. Wendy attended Charis Bible College receiving an Associates Degree in 2018. To all that Wendy knew she proclaimed her faith in Jesus and showed enormous amounts of love and kindness.
Some of her greatest joys were cooking, baking, sewing, playing cards and board games with everyone gathered at the table. Retiring in 2016 allowed her achieve her lifelong dream of having a beautiful home with a pool in Florida. Here she was able to enjoy more of her favorite outdoor activities such as walking, enjoying the sun and the beach.
Wendy was married to her soulmate and loving husband Larry for 51 years and together they have five children, LeeAnne Hall (Jeffrey), Kami Grant (Dan), Ryan Turbyfill (Miriam), Nathan Turbyfill (Kerri) and Dawn Kyle (Troy); Grandchildren Kandace Delong, Katie Hall-Rhodes, Carter Hall, Macie Hall and Joshua Steelman. She leaves behind her siblings Malia Elsner (Ted), Pamela Rewerts, Rick Elsner (Trudy) and Robyn Elsner (Andrew). She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Eleanor Elsner and brother-in-law, Robert Rewerts.
Wendy lovingly dedicated her life to serving others by witnessing to them, teaching them how to improve their relationship with the Lord, and generously giving her time to help them in times of need and in everyday life. In 2018, Wendy embarked on a mission trip to Belize and touched countless lives while she was there. Wendy used her talents to impact everyone she met as well as the ones closest to her. Wendy tirelessly worked to ensure everyone felt loved and welcomed into her presence.
Wendy’s biggest talents were cooking and baking. Wendy made every meal and celebration beyond special through her work in the kitchen. We will never forget all the delicious pigs in a blanket, beef stews, German chocolate and coffee cakes prepared for us. Mom we love you, thank you for all the lovely dinners and special celebrations!
In lieu of flowers a donation to the University of Florida international student missionaries team Zac and Michaela Olive would be greatly appreciated. Zac and Michaela are dear friends of Wendy’s.
