Wilhelm "Bill" Andersen

Bill was born in Chicago, Illinois to William and Ingberta Tonnesen Andersen on May 5, 1932. He graduated from Oak Park High School and earned his master’s degree in electrical engineering from Norwegian Technical University (NTH), Trondheim, Norway. He married Virginia (Ginny) Egeberg Andersen in Chicago, Illinois. Bill was employed at Allis-Chalmers, Aerojet General, Sonnico, and retired from NELFO (Norwegian Electrical Contractors Association) as CEO. He was a member of the Fullbright Committee (Norway).

Bill was an avid tennis player and had a long family history of sailing. He was Commander, SPSS (Sarasota Power & Sail Squadron). He also enjoyed music and was a world traveler.

Bill is survived by his son, Erik Charles Andersen (Oslo, Norway); his grandchildren, Stian Erik Andersen (Michell), Kalispell, MT; Carlin Joachim Andersen (Hannah), Missoula, MT; and Julian Strand Andersen, Oslo, Norway; and his great-grandchildren, Aria Rose, Piper Charlotte, Espen Andreas, and Nora Lilly.

A Celebration of Life will be held on December 6, 2025, at 10:00 am at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, located at 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL, 34232.

A Reception will follow on the same day from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the same location.
