William Wheeler Fleeman Jr.
July 22, 1926 – August 6, 2018
William Wheeler Fleeman Jr., of Sarasota, FL passed away on Aug. 6, 2018 at the age of 92. He was born in Sarasota on Jul. 22, 1926 to the late Ola Mae (Lyles) and William Wheeler Fleeman Sr.
He proudly served in the US Army and as a Police Officer for the City of Sarasota. William was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sarasota, where he married his wife of 70 years, Rachel.
He enjoyed fishing and traveling to the mountains of North Carolina. William is survived by his wife, Rachel; son, William K. Fleeman (Brenda) of Sarasota and grandsons, Mark (Addie) Whaley and Scott (Erin) Fleeman, both of Sarasota; 8 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister, Frances McCullough and brother, Donald K. Fleeman.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10 AM on Sat. Aug. 11, 2018 at Robert Toale & Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave., Sarasota, FL 34232. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made First Baptist Church of Sarasota, 1661 Main St., Sarasota, FL 34236 or the Salvation Army, 1400 10th St., Sarasota, FL 34236.
