It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Dr. William R. George II from Delray Beach, Florida. Bill was a devoted husband, cherished father, loving grandfather and compassionate physician.
Dr. George received his BS from the University of Florida, obtained his medical degree from the University of Miami in 1970, then proceeded to his internship and residency at Jackson Memorial hospital. In 1973, Dr. George opened his own practice in Boca Raton, Florida, where he served his community as a family physician for fifty-two years, a calling he answered not only with remarkable skill and dedication, but with profound humanity.
At home, Bill was the steady rock at the heart of his family — unshakable, patient, and ever-present through every challenge and joy. Bill leaves behind the love of his life of fifty-five years, Lynda Decell George. A great joy for both was attending church together, family gatherings and their final move to Parrish, FL for retirement.
He is survived by his five beautiful children, Drs William R. George III (Reena), Kimberly L. George (Sean), Faith C. Gliniecki (Eric), Christopher W. George, Ashlynn A. Jones (Alex). His precious grandchildren, Nicholas Gliniecki, Faith L. Gliniecki, Talon Whaley, and Brady Whaley. His sister, Louise Bohne (Mark) along with many nieces and nephews.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, William R. George, Alice George, and his sister Patricia (Patty) Johnson.
To know Bill was to know his love for the Lord, what quiet strength looks like-never boastful, always constant. He was the foundation upon which his family stood, the voice of reason, and the heart that beat for everyone around him. His grandchildren were the apple of his eye, each of whom carries forward his legacy of compassion, resilience, and integrity.
His loss is immeasurable, but so is the love he leaves behind. His life was a testament to service, loyalty, love, and God, and his memory will remain a guiding light for all who had the privilege to know him.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd at 11am at Church of All Nations, 1300 NW 4th Ave. Boca Raton FL, 33432
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to Boca Raton Regional Hospital- continuing the legacy of healing that defined his life or Children’s Home Society in West Palm Beach-furthering his dedication to children.
May God bless you, Bill.
You were, and always will be, deeply loved.
